JOB The Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Section has an exciting opportunity for a Term Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Health Program Assistant II (HPA II) to support the Community Health Worker program.
The position will have two areas of focus: 1) the PHSKC CHW Asthma Program and 2) the CHW Core Competency Training for King County Community Partners.
For the first area, this position will be responsible for providing administrative and management support, developing and monitoring training activities, and quality assurance and compliance monitoring for CHW Asthma program activities as it expands to work with new partners.
For the second area, this position will facilitate enrollment and tracking of and coaching for participants in a web-based training.
­The work performed in this position is anticipated to last through August 30, 2024.
However, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on funding and program need.
This position is offered as a Term Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA).

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Area 1: Supporting PHSKC CHW Asthma Program (60% time) Manage and maintain the program's REDCap database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date entry of participant information, survey responses, and other relevant data.
Ensure data privacy and security protocols are followed to protect sensitive health information.
Provide technical support and assistance to both staff and CHWs who utilize REDCap for data collection and management.
Develop and monitor tracking system for healthcare provider communications.
Generate reports summarizing CHW activities, sharing these with the program manager and CHWs for quality improvement.
Manage inventory of asthma reduction supplies that is maintained at Chinook and King County storage facilities.
Deliver supplies to PHSKC clients using County vehicle.
Collaborate with CHWs to develop comprehensive training materials, resources, and schedule for onboarding new Community Health Worker (CHW) partners, which may include in-person sessions, webinars, and written guides.
Monitor the progress of CHWs through the onboarding process, ensuring that trainings are completed on schedule and adjust plans as needed to accommodate unexpected changes or developments in the program.
Area 2: Supporting WA DOH training (40% time)Collaborate with Washington Department of Health Staff to facilitate Community Health Worker Core Competency Training for King County community partnersFacilitate English web-based CHW Core competency training Enroll learners in CHW Core Competency trainingUse online reporting tools for tracking and grading student assignmentsCommunicate online with all participants in CHW Core Competency Training King County Courses Provide individual coaching and support to CHW Core Competency Training King County Courses as needed.

Necessary Special RequirementsThe selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.

Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing required training on time.
The selected candidate will be required to pass an Excel Skills Test.
The ability to travel to and from sites throughout King County in a timely manner that may not be well-served by public transportation.
A County vehicle will be available for use.
A valid WA state driver license is required to operate a County vehicle.
Work location: The work performed in this position will be performed in a combination of onsite and telework, working at least 1 day in the office per week.
The base location of this position is the Chinook Building, located at 401 5th Ave in Seattle, WA, 98104.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite.
Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
