OJD will pay you a 5% allowance for bilingual skills (includes ASL) if you can pass a skills test and are assigned to use those skills on the job! Position Highlights The Clatsop County Circuit Court in Astoria, Oregon, is hiring a Courtroom Clerk (Court Operations Specialist).
Much of your day will be spent in the courtroom, where you will support a judge by communicating with jurors, recording court proceedings in real time, keeping an accurate log of events, swearing in witness, marking exhibits, coordinating the actions of parties, and ensuring that the courtroom is secure.
You will prepare and process court documents, including judgments, orders, and opinions.
You will also schedule and facilitate video appearances, as well as communicate with attorneys, parties, and agencies by phone and email regarding scheduling and other matters.
When working in the administrative office, you will accept and record documents filed with the court, review documents for accuracy and completeness, and process orders and judgments in accordance with legal requirements and court procedures.
You will also interact with judges, court staff, law enforcement officers, and the public, at the customer service window and over the phone, answering general questions about cases and WebEx, processing payments, and providing information about court operations, policies, and procedures.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
