In this role, you will assist the customer service manager in the operations of the office.
This includes overseeing the work of employees, participating directly in service delivery activities and representing the office during interactions with customers, governmental entities and community groups.
Not only will you help make sure our policies and procedures are effective, but you’ll be a key factor in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service with every transaction.

A day in the life: Assist customers with vehicle registration and titling, interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies.
Review and verify the validity of applications, identification and accompanying documents.
Produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for challenging transactions and customer situations.
Provide oversight and assistance to team members to ensure smooth counter operations.
Complete reports and maintain accurate records.
Ensure the security of sensitive documents, inventory and funds received.
Monitor transactions for policy and procedure performance standards and communicate expectations to employees.
Provide input to the customer service manager for performance appraisals.
Monitor daily time keeping and verify accuracy of time sheets before submitting to the customer service manager.
Conduct driver license examinations and behind the wheel tests.
Perform relief work in other offices as needed.
Work may involve overnight travel, after hours work, standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Minimum qualifications: Four years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services and programs.
At least two years of this experience must involve explaining and interpreting rules, programs and procedures and explaining requirements and gaining compliance.
AND Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
AND Three months experience collecting money and making change.
Completion of an associate's degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
Special qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position.
You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
