What you will do: The Retail Lead contributes to the successful day-to-day operations by providing world-class guest experience and a safe and respectful environment for guests and employees alike.
This role is responsible for on-the-ground support, training, and directing of the retail team.
The Retail Lead upholds Tillamook’s Shared Values, performance, and behavior standards, leading their team to do the same.
This role champions outstanding guest interactions, upholds Tillamook brand merchandising presentation standards, performs opening and closing procedures, assists with inventory, stocking items, maintaining adequate cash in registers, as well as all other responsibilities directed by the management team.
Here’s a day in the life: · Ensure all company standards for quality, customer service, health and safety are met within the core values of Good Stewards, Uncompromising Quality, One Team, Play to Win, and Genuinely Care.
Provide training to new employees on their assigned duties.
· Be adaptive to business needs by being flexible with work duties and working cross functionally across the business.
Be willing to take on responsibilities and challenges, establish and achieve goals, and learn and master job duties · Build professional and respectful working relationships with all internal and external vendors, customers, coworkers, and management.
· Demonstrate outstanding customer service when responding to customer comments and concerns · Work closely with employees to provide real time, candid, and honest feedback to ensure their success.
Partner with management with trends or challenges as appropriate.
· Assign tasks and set goals for the day; ensure the team stays on task.
Address and resolve difficult situations in a proactive, objective, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
· Have intimate knowledge of the Break Policy, Attendance Policy, Opening/Closing Building Policy, Disruptive customers in the VC policy, emergency response policy, unattended bags in the VC policy, guns in the VC policy, missing child in the VC policy, reporting visitor incidents/accidents policy, and all other future policies that have to do with the Tillamook Creamery.
· Take an active role in improving processes by providing feedback and suggestions to management · Manage labor usage (i.
e.
, sending crew home when not needed, temporarily assigning crew to other areas, etc.
) to support business needs and partner with management as appropriate.
Create daily break schedules that align with the break policy, ensure employees can take their breaks on time, and assist with providing break coverage.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all retail items and products to answer customer questions, provide information, and resolve all inquiries.
· Ensure cash drawer accuracy, keep sufficient change in petty cash drawer, assist/perform cash drawer change orders, and void transactions and approve payment exceptions when necessary.
Assist with alcohol sales in accordance with OLCC rules.
· Train staff to provide a consistent guest experience through friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service utilizing the Retail Associate Training Checklist and Onboarding packet.
· Perform all tasks of a Retail Associate.
Act as cashier, stocker, custodial, etc.
to support the needs of the business.
· Arrange merchandise under the direction of the retail management staff and uphold Tillamook brand guidelines regarding merchandising.
· Assist in organizing and executing promotions and sales events.
Help fulfill donations, webstore, and gift basket requests.
· Be present for and assist with inventories and special events · Other duties as needed and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · High school diploma or GED is preferred.
· 2+ years of Customer Service Experience required · 2+ years of Cash Handling Experience required · 2+ years of POS (Point of Sales) Knowledge preferred · 2+ years of training and leading retail associates preferred · Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English · Ability to follow written and verbal instruction · Food Handlers Card Physical Requirements: · Standing and/or walking · Lifting 25 lbs.
