*JOB DESCRIPTION*
*JOB TITLE: *Machine Operator
*DEPARTMENT: *Processing
*REPORTS TO: *Processing Team Leader
*EFFECTIVE DATE:*
*SUMMARY: *A Processing Machine Operator is responsible for leading team members to produce quality products in a timely manner, meeting company standards.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Knows and adheres to the rules of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
* Knows and adheres to the safety procedures; Reports safety concerns to Packaging Manager.
* Ensure that only a minimal amount of product falls on the floor.
* Inspect packaged products seal, print, film, and when applicable hole punch, zipper, label, and tear notch.
* Document legibly production records.
* Apply appropriate product labels to carts.
* Report any concerns to your machine operator or team leader.
· Occasionally use chemicals to wash down machinery i.
e.
allergen/species change.
* Fill in as needed in other departments or shifts.
* Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Directly supervises the crew working on the line.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
* Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* · High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and team leader.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

*PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:* · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, crouch and talk and hear.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30-80 pounds and occasionally move a cart full of product on wheels weighing approximately (up to) 700 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, temperatures vary from 30 to 90 degrees; Minimal risk of electric shock.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to very loud.
